also, there are other reports of oil finds in the Utah/Wyoming/Colorado area.
There are a lot of areas in Alaska that probably contain significant oil reserves but Congress is not allowing the oil companies to check it out.
There is still oil in the US. In fact, I was reading an article about how some closed oil wells are being reopened lately. The high price of oil is making some of these wells profitable to operate again.
YES they are still exploring even more as the technology improves.
